Have A Question?
Q: What is the massage studio like?
A: Jennifer’s sunlit practice space is an ideal setting for the relaxing escape you seek. Step away from your daily demands with a 45-minute face+scalp massage or a 90-minute craniosacral therapy session. Jennifer’s Seattle office is centrally located in the Fremont Saturn Building across from PCC and the Fremont Rocket, just north of Lake Union and conveniently accessed from surrounding neighborhoods like Wallingford, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Queen Anne, Ballard, Laurelhurst, Magnolia, Montlake, and Eastlake.
Q: What types of massage and bodywork sessions do you offer?
A: As far as massage services go, Jennifer primarily offers Craniosacral Therapy and Sunbright Face+Scalp Massage. She is also an experienced yoga instructor and leads one-on-one Calming Yoga Sessions as well as Roll+Release Self-Massage Tutorials for both new and returning clients. You can find out more and schedule an appointment by visiting the Offerings page.
Q: What protocols do you follow to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses? Do I still have to wear a mask?
Masking is now optional for all Sunbreak Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Roll+Release, and Calming Yoga clients. That said, you are encouraged to remain intentional when deciding whether or not to wear your mask.
What this looks like in practice: You may choose to bring your own mask to wear during your session. Please opt to wear a mask if you have any respiratory/allergy-type symptoms and/or if you have a sick family member at home. Your cooperation helps this local small business (and our entire Sunbreak community) remain happy, healthy, and operational. Thank you!
Note: Jennifer has chronic conditions and will typically wear a mask during most appointments, even if you choose not to do so. She also builds in extra time between appointments to properly ventilate the room as well as to disinfect all equipment used during each session.
Q: I booked an appointment—but now I have COVID-19 symptoms / a cold / the flu / another contagious condition. What’s your sick policy?
A: Receiving massage or craniosacral therapy when you have a cold, the flu, or another contagious condition not only spreads the illness to others, but it can also exacerbate and extend the duration of your symptoms.
The likelihood of spreading an infection to your practitioner as well as other clients should be minimized to the best of your ability; when in doubt, contact Jennifer to ask if your particular appointment type would be appropriate given your unique circumstance. As a general rule, please refrain from coming to any appointments for at least three days after the resolution of all symptoms for viral/bacterial infections and until you have clearance from your doctor for any injuries and other contraindicated conditions.
You always have up until 24 hours prior to the start of your session to cancel or reschedule online using the links in your appointment confirmation email; for last-minute schedule changes, please text Jennifer directly via the message-only studio line at 206-657-6399.
Q: Can I make an appointment via text/email or over the phone?
No. In order to remain present for each of her clients, Jennifer is frequently in session with her phone silenced. Appointments are accepted online using the links on this website or, for returning clients only, in person during your preceding appointment. Thank you!
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: No. Sunbreak Massage is not in-network or contracted with any insurance companies. You may pay for your appointment using Venmo, credit card, cash, or (provided you confirm your company’s massage coverage beforehand) HSA and FSA cards.
Q: How much do you charge? And do you accept tips?
A: The current fee for a 45-minute Face+Scalp Massage is $99; a 90-minute New Client Craniosacral Therapy session is $177. Gratuities are always welcome and appreciated. Payment is due prior to or during your appointment. Some clients choose to pay and add a tip to their Venmo or credit-card payment at the end of their session; some prefer to pay at the beginning, so they can just relax post-massage.
Q: Any other studio policies I should know about?
A: Your health and safety is of the utmost importance. New clients are expected to fill out a complete health history and sign any relevant waivers and consent forms at least two full days PRIOR to their scheduled appointment. Failure to submit this required paperwork at least 48 hours before your session will result in appointment cancellation. Returning clients will need to update their intake paperwork every 12 months. You will be notified via email when it is time to submit (or resubmit) your paperwork.
Sunbreak Massage is unable to offer refunds.
Please notify your practitioner immediately if you experience any pain or discomfort during your session; adjustments will be made to assist you in navigating your experience.
Please shower before your session and refrain from wearing any synthetic fragrance, perfumes, colognes, or other strong scents when you come in for your appointment.
As a healthcare-oriented practice, Sunbreak Massage observes HIPAA compliance standards as well as all applicable state and federal laws and will take the appropriate measures to ensure your privacy and safety at all times.
Sunbreak Massage values your time — and the time of your practitioner and fellow clients. You always have up until 24 hours prior to the start of your session to cancel or reschedule online; last-minute notice of 24 hours or less will result in you owing the full session fee, which will either be charged in full to the credit card you used when booking, forfeited (for prepaid sessions; i.e. you lose that session), or due at the time of your missed appointment via Venmo or Square invoice.
Prepaid clients who cancel with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice may apply their prepaid credit toward their next session. As a reminder, Sunbreak Massage is unable to offer refunds.
Please be punctual for your appointment. At practitioner’s discretion, late arrivals may receive the remaining session time on the massage table or yoga mat but will still owe the full session fee for the amount of time originally reserved for their appointment.
Sunbreak Massage also maintains an active waitlist for clients awaiting an appointment. Should you need to cancel, miss, or reschedule your session, your advance notice allows another client to book into your spot. Thank you for your cooperation!
Q: I’m fairly active, fit, and healthy overall. Why should I try Craniosacral Therapy?
A: One major desire among Jennifer’s clients is to dissolve stress and tension and feel better in their bodies. In today’s world, stress is pervasive and affects even those who otherwise feel healthy and fit. And, unfortunately, no amount of exercise can completely cancel out the effects of frequent sitting and/or screen time.
You may find great benefit in balancing your time spent working, caring for family and pets, and enjoying hobbies + activities with restorative, effective Craniosacral Therapy (CST) sessions that help you dissolve stress, get out of your head and in touch with your body, and soothe and facilitate your body’s natural repair process while liberating fascial restrictions.
Upon receiving CST, clients often experience a profound sense of relaxation, mental clarity, restored balance, and ease.
Of course, the number one reason you should schedule a Craniosacral Therapy appointment with Jennifer is because you want to!
Q: I am dealing with chronic conditions or an old injury. Do you offer massage and/or CST appointment options for me, too?
A: Jennifer has extensive experience working with old injuries and chronic conditions; however, massage and/or CST may be contraindicated in the case of a more recent, acute injury like a broken bone, dislocated joint, ligament sprain, muscle strain or tear, surgical incision, etc., as well as in the presence of recent strokes, whiplash, and other specific conditions.
You will have the opportunity to share your health history with Jennifer via your intake forms upon scheduling an appointment, and together, you and Jennifer can determine any areas or treatments to avoid prior to your session. When in doubt, please consult your primary healthcare provider (PCP, ND, MD, or another medical professional you trust) for approval and/or answers to your questions regarding the appropriateness of massage and/or CST for you and your individual body.
Massage and/or Craniosacral Therapy may be contraindicated for some chronic or acute conditions, illnesses, injuries, and/or stages of healing. You know your body best, and your primary healthcare provider can give you a diagnosis to help you determine if massage or CST is right for you at this time.
It is outside a massage therapist’s scope of practice to diagnose; however, with your doctor’s diagnosis in hand, you may check in with Jennifer to see which of her offerings might be the best fit for where you currently are in your healing journey.
