Cupping Massage Therapy
Cupping massage therapy is great for increasing circulation to areas of chronic stagnation due to old injuries, postural patterns, or repetitive movements. Cupping massage can sometimes cause cupping marks on the body in the process of relieving this chronic stagnation and increasing circulation to the area being cupped; the vacuum-like suction of the cup pulls static blood, lymph, and cellular debris from old injuries deep within the muscle up to the skin’s surface, creating a reddish or purple mark and freeing up the area for oxygen, nutrients, and living cells to move in, thereby speeding healing and recovery. These marks are *not* bruises, although they do bear a slight resemblance. (Bruises are caused by blunt force or trauma to an area. Bruising is a sign of an acute injury.) Everything from how frequently you sweat to your skin tone to how much stagnation exists within a given area can affect if and how you mark up after your cupping massage, how noticeable the marks are, and how long they last.
Topical CHABA Application
CHABA (Cannab¡s Health and Beauty Aids) are topical applications of CannaB¡Diol with less than 0.3% T*H*C and are not psychoactive. These are a great choice for reducing inflammation, muscle tension, anxiety and stress. CHABA products are legal for ages 21+ in Washington state. Please check with your doctor for suitability and possible interactions before beginning any new supplement. Jennifer uses high-quality topical CHABA massage oil from the local, woman-owned brand Supa Naturals for clients who elect to have this topical application included in their 60- or 90-minute massage session.
Hot stone massage
Add cozy comfort to your massage experience with seasonally available hot-stone therapy (September–April). This 90-minute massage incorporates smooth, gently heated river stones to melt muscle tension for the ultimate warming effect. Stones may be used on 1–3 focus areas during this relaxing session.
